This photo makes me think I need to improve my photographic skills - which might mean getting some decent lights! It doesn't do justice to the colours, but you do get an idea of the flow of one square into the next and the shading given by the variation in quilting density. This is entered into the large wallhanging category - but you know secretly I am after the free motion quilting prize!!
I went a bit crazy taking photos for the transition from one square to the next - sit back and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteHooray Hilary!! That was fast work! Can't wait to see you and your quilt at the show. Give me a shout and we can arrange a get together.
ReplyDeleteLove, Muv
Beyond fabulous! I hope you win a very big award, it certainly deserves it.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love how the curves continue but the filler changes--sometimes a lot, sometimes a little. Did you mark the curves on the piece as a whole and then cut it up? Did you mark just where the line would continue? Good luck at the show.
ReplyDeleteWOW it looks stunning when all the blocks are together
ReplyDeleteA-maz-zing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe on how these 12 pieces look as a whole! Just amazing.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see it finished. Your transitions are perfect! Good luck in the show.
ReplyDeleteWhat a Master-Piece! I like how you changed up the quilting design for each block while keeping the continuity of the flowing lines. You should be darn proud of what you have accomplished! Can tell there is quit sometime involved with this!
ReplyDeleteAmazing Amazing Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is impressive how the curves and lines continue from onw block to an other. Like knitnkwilt above, I cannot help but wonder how you achieve that. The whole piece shows a design that makes me think of water movements in a river of rocks. And you change the design in each block! So gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAlways a treat to see what you have been up to. This work is mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI had enjoyed seeing the blocks individually. It's insane to see them all together. I love how they all match up. Such beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous... it's not quilting, it is art and you are a kind of yarn-artist! Wow.
ReplyDeleteI love it! What a culmination of your "cameos". Along with admiring the continuity, like others, I enjoy the color shifts with "just" thread, highlighted by the binding of each square.
ReplyDeleteLike knitnkwilt, I pictured you drawing all the curves first, and then keeping careful track of which square went where! It would be a terrible puzzle to try to match them up randomly (even for one who likes puzzles).
I simply LOVE it! You make me want to TRY!
ReplyDeleteWow...this is amazing !!!!!
