A bit of colour and something a bit different

When I decided to do my project of 101 free motion quilted cameos, I chose indigo blue partly because white stitching shows up well on that colour and partly to create a unified body of work. The downside of this, which I had not thought of, was that the blog colour wise begins to look all the same.
So I thought I would put in a small experimental piece which started off yellow. Once stitched, I then went over the quilting with Markal paintsticks - in blue and silver. So yes, we are still with blues, but it does look a bit different!

I'm linking the blog to nina maria's 'Off the wall Friday'. Go and have look to see what others are doing.

    1. Thanks Angela. I thing the peacock blue works really well. And a good thing is that you can have a go with a different colour scheme on the other side!

    1. Fmq is my passion and I love trying out new ideas. Some quilts really do push fmq into the forground, but it is so often feathers or stippling or pebbles - all of which are great, but I do love trying to think up something different.

  5. I think the colours you have here are beautiful - and I love the quilting and the way you have painted over the fabric! Something I have yet to try.

    1. Hope you do try it Joan. I was really surprised - and pleased - how it brought out the quilting when I tried.
